As you can see, we have just implemented this new forum. It is a custom forum seamlessly integrated with the site, and ties in to the user login you use to get to APJ.com. Anonymous posts are now a thing of the past. You will also notice on your portfolio page that your recent forum posts will show, serving as one indicator as to how much you use the site. All of the older posts from previous forum will show here too.
But this change is only the beginning. We have listened to all the comments coming our way and have acted, and in the next three weeks you will see some dramatic upgrades coming to americanphotojournalist.com.
These include: an exclusive photojournalism job database that would show numerous jobs or links to job postings; more stringent guidelines on rank it and new portfolio submissions; the ability to vote on portfolios you feel are strong and the top ones would show on homepage; a portfolio database searchable by name or state, a industry calendar that shows upcoming workshops, deadlines, contests and the like; pictures of the week collected from around the world, and a whole lot more!
Some of the changes will be dramatic; others will be so subtle you may not even notice them.
We want mericanphotojournalist.com to be a true resource for you, and in the coming weeks we think it will definitely do that. If there are ever ideas or suggestions you have for site improvement, please shoot them our way. You can contact me directly at Robert@americanphotojournalist.com.
To all those who submitted ideas for site improvement we thank you. To all the members of APJ who actively use the site, we thank you also. Stay tuned!
